What Are The Symptoms Of Head Trauma?

default
Posted on Mon, 11 May 2015
Question: Last Friday I was pulling nails out of plywood flooring and accidentally hit myself around my eye socket with the hammer when the hammer slipped as I was pulling up on the plywood. Later that night, plus last night and again tonight I am seeing green flashes that look like a laser going across the room. Basically my vision doesn't seem affected and surprisingly I didn't get a black eye. I looked it up and it said it was caused from head trauma. Should I go the emergency room or can I wait to call my eye doctor tomorrow to get checked?

Brief Answer:
This requires consultation with your eye doctor.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

I am Dr Dadapeer k an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.
I reviewed your history.
These symptoms of flashes of light following injury to the eye requires examination by your eye doctor. The common causes that need to be considered are retinal tear, vitreous detachment... and other problems involving the posterior segment of the eye. Hence this requires evaluation by simple test called as indirect ophthalmoscopy.

Hence I advice you to consult your eye doctor at the earliest.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.
