What Are The Symptoms Of Pneumonia?

default
Posted on Mon, 30 Mar 2015
Question: My building at work has not had working heat until a week ago. It is in central Florida. I got a cold in November and it took me a couple months to get over it. We just had cold weather again, the building was 56 degrees and never got above 68, and now I have a runny nose again. In January I went to walk in clinic and they did xrays and said I had beginning of pneuomonia on my lung and gave me steriods and antibiotic and along with the head cold, it was gone. Now my nose is runny again(my whole staff got sick) and I have slight discomfort in my upper left chest, which my daughter who is a nurse, said it is my lung, as it burns from time to time. The heat is now working in the building but I am looking for direction in how to finally get rid of the runny nose and upper chest discomfort

Brief Answer:
Seems to be allergic rhinitis.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having running nose.

Based on your clinical details, it appears to be allergic rhinitis due to cold climate.

As such, allergic rhinitis needs steroidal sprays and prophylactic anti allergic medications, after evaluating with Ent surgeon ( ent examination and blood tests for the severity of allergic rhinitis).

Kindly go ahead for ent consultation and blood tests.

Mean time, protect your self from cold climate, stop consuming freezer products ( curd/ice creams) and do steam inhalation to clear nasal secretions from sinuses.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
