What Are The Symptoms Of Rosacea?
I'd like to know how to get rid of small white bumps on the back of my arms, I've had them for so long that my arm looks red and some spots are darker than others. I was once said by a dermatologist that it was rosacea, I was given some arm lotions but didn't improve at all. Is there anything to make them less red and/or get rid of the bumps? Thanks!
Mostly rosacea. Need some treatment.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
According to your given information, it is mostly suggestive of Rosacea (chronic skin condition). Exposure to temperature extremes, strenuous exercise, heat from sunlight, severe sunburn, stress, anxiety, cold wind and moving to a warm or hot environment from a cold etc can aggravate your condition. You need to get rid of these factors as much as possible.
TREATMENT: 1) Topical formulation of Azelic acid with oral antibiotic Doxycycline or Metronidazole are quite useful to reduce inflammatory reaction.
2) Using alpha-hydroxy acid peels may help relieve redness caused by irritation, and reduce papules or pustules associated with rosacea.
3) Dermatological vascular laser or intense pulsed light machines provides best treatment for rosacea.
Here, I suggest you to consult with your dermatologist for complete prescription and necessary therapy. It will be more worthwhile.
Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.
Wish your good health and take care.
