Brief Answer:
Get done PFT and chest x ray.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your concern.
COPD (chronic obstructive Pulmonary disease) is chronic, progressive and obstructive airway disease.
The most common causative factor is cigarette smoking.
So it is good that you quit since 11 years.
At present you need to consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system.
2. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test)
3. Chest x ray.
PFT is needed for the diagnosis of COPD.
Chest x ray is needed to rule out early lung cancer.
If both these are normal then no need to worry for COPD or lung cancer.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
