What Are The Various Surgeries And Procedures To Do Circumcision?

default
Posted on Thu, 10 Dec 2015
Question: I was scheduled for a circumcision soon. My question was if there are different methods to perform a circumcision? I researched it online and some websites talk about different methods such as tight, loose, high, low? My urologist didn't mention any of these methods and said his method is something called the dissection technique. These methods I saw online have seem less invasive and something I prefer, but my urologist has never heard of any of these methods? What should I do?

Brief Answer:
Techniques of Circumcision differs in pediatric age group from adult.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have Phimosis and planned for circumcision .

I do agree with you as regards various techniques that have been followed for doing circumcision however let me state that the technique of surgery differ in pediatric age group from adult one .

The best and common technique that is being used all over the world is Dorsal Slit and Sleeve method and is being practiced by most of the experienced Urologist .

Finally it is out come of surgery that is important rather than cosmetic appearance.

More you read on internet more you are likely to get confused .

Considering your age (19 years ) I would suggest you to go ahead and get it done by a conventional technique .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Thanks for the response.
Speaking online to other people that have had a circumscription it seems that there are ways that allow you retain some of the foreskin as well as the frenulum which is important in maintaining sensitivity. I'm afraid that with this conventional technique I could lose more sensitivity than is necessary. I am scheduled for a appointment with another urologist to get a second opinion, but it is only months after when Im suppose to have the circumcision. I'm afraid that If I cancel this upcoming circumcision, that when I speak to the second urologist he will say the same thing as the first urologist. Which will just waste months of time. My main question is: Are the different techniques that much different from one another? Do they still reduce sensitivity by roughly the same amount. I'm afraid the conventional circumcision will cut just about every sensitive part around the glans of the penis.

Brief Answer:
It is your fear psychosis about loss of sensitivity .

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for follow up .It is your fear psychosis that you will be deprived of sexual satisfaction after conventional circumcision.

if you look at the entire Muslim community who undergo circumcision in infancy they never had these problems of sexual satisfaction.

You can request your Urologist to excise distal part of the foreskin (Partial Circumcision ) .

Thanks and Regards.
