What Are These Particles Of Different Sizes In The Popliteal Fossa Behind The Knees?
Question: For the past month, I have had pain in the back of my thigh, but I haven't done any strenuous exercise recently, and putting on muscle pain relievers doesn't help. In the past two days, I sat down to raise my legs and pressed the pain points behind my legs with my hands. I found that there were many particles of different sizes in the popliteal fossa behind the knees, the size of which was like red bean and soft and hard. There are similar granules when you press it along the thigh, but a slight massage of the granules in the popliteal fossa behind the knee will cause tingling and burning sensation, and the pain will spread to the back of the thigh. pls help my situation ,thank you so much
Brief Answer:
Take anti-inflammatory drugs.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I read your query and here is my advice.
If you found granules while touching popliteal fossa they can be popliteal cysts. In this case you may need an ultrasound of the popliteal fossa in ordering to check for their size, consistency and if they are the cause of the pain.
Another cause of the leg pain can be related to lumbar spine issues . In this case I can recommend you to do a x-ray of lumbar spine.
You may need to use anti-inflammatory drugs such ibuprofen or naproxen to ease the pain.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks.

I have also considered whether it is a popliteal cyst, but my popliteal fossa has a lot of particles in the middle and sides. After a few massages, it will feel tingling and hot, and the same thing happens to my feet. Could it be lymphoma?
Brief Answer:
Can be an infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear.
If you have many small particles they can be swollen lymph nodes. In this case you may need to do a total blood count with formula and an ultrasound of popliteal fossa to check them.
Infection can be an option. Lymphoma can be a more rare issues but can be spotted in blood count.
