What Can I Do About Persistent Dry Cough For Over Two Months?e

Question: Hi, I have been having persistent dry cough from the past 2 1/2 months. One month back I visited a Physician who took a Blood Test and also Sinus X ray and concluded there was a block in the sinus area and prescribed Antibiotic - Clarex (Clarithromycin) 250mg twice daily for 20 days, Rhinase Aqueous Spray morning and night in each nostril for one month and Lorinase Syrup - Antihistamine / Decongestant night 5ml for 20 days. The cough is still persisting even after the treatment has been completed.
There was no Fever or running nose or Phlem only Dry cough which was intermittent usually when exposed to AC of the room or car and sometimes due to eating some foods. Even though the Doctor had mentioned of a block in Sinus area I had no breathing problem or blocked nose whatsoever. The Cough is not violent but is intermittent and can be trigerred by talking so it is a problem. Need to know the reason for the cough and a solution. Thanks.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
According to the history if you were my patient i would recommend you to exclude allergic problems too by doing some blood tests such as Total IgE and Pneumoallergens.
In some cases like your allergies might be present despite sinusitis.
If the above tests come positive than some inhalers should be add in your current treatment such as Flixotide twice.
Please discuss with your doctor
Regards and feel free to ask me again.
