What Can I Do To Prevent The Cramp From Happening?
Question: I have a cramp in one of my toes that wakes me up during the night. The cramp happens when I am at the deeper part of my sleep. The toe feels crampy sometimes during the day, but not to the point of bothering me. I believe the cramp was caused by a medication that I was taking for sleep (Seroquel). I stopped the medication a few years ago, but the cramp hasn’t gone away. The cramp gets worse if I eat certain foods, especially foods containing choline, such as eggs.
My question is, what can I do to prevent the cramp from happening? Is there anything that can be done locally (in the area that the cramp occurs), such as applying some medication, injections, etc? I tried some things, such as stretching the toe (which no longer helps after I do it for a few days) and soaking the foot in magnesium bath (which helps only partially).
