Brief Answer:
Character of pain is different

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

Backbone pain usually radiates along the waist. It gets worse in specific positions. It gets better by taking some precautions.
Kidney stone pain causes pain when it moves in kidney or down ureter. It is bad pain and radiated into the groin and lower abdomen. Drinking lots of fluids can help pass the stone.
A surgeon can better help differentiate between both by doing physical examination.

An ultrasound of whole abdomen or USG kidney ureter bladder will help.
