What Can Be Expected On An MRI Scan When Hospitalized For Night Chills, Severe Back And Thigh Pain?
Question: can i please have an interpretation of this MRI done of my lumbar spine ? i have a hx of SSI after fusion last year with mycobacterium bolletii. I was admitted yesterday for severe back and thigh pain, night chills. this is the MRI findings.
Brief Answer:
MRI is suggestive of pus collection/infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have noted your clinical and MRI spine details. The MRI is suggestive of a collection in the lower back (lumbar region), which is most likely pus. This can explain the pain and night chills. You would require drainage of this pus/collection. This can be sent for microbiological examination (pus culture and sensitivity), which would help in choosing the appropriate antibiotics.
I sincerely hope my reply has helped you.
