What Can Be Interpreted From My Chest X-ray And Blood Reports Which Were Advised As A Treatment Plan For Continuous Dry Cough?
Question: My wife is coughing for past 10+ days. This is a dry cough only and no phlegm. low fever sometimes.
This has increased in intensity and frequency over the past 4 days.
Especially in the night it is very very severe and she has barely slept over the past 4 nights
She had Amoxycillin 10 tabs over the past few days.
We checked with a doctor here in Ask Doctor and he suggested that it could be viral + allergy and suggested Tab Montair LC.
We went to a local physician who suggested it is bacterial and gave the following tablets (Broclear, Banocide, Claribid ) but it is only aggravating the condition.
I am attaching the Chest X-Ray report and blood report.
Please advise what is the issue and what needs to be done?

Brief Answer:
She is having small patch of pneumonia.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through the reports you have attached.
She is having small patch of pneumonia in left lung.
Since she is above 40 years, we should also rule out diabetes first.
So get done blood sugar level.
She should definitely go for CT thorax because her symptoms are not controlled with current treatment. So we should also rule out tuberculosis.
Please let me know:
1. Is she having weight loss and decreased appetite?
2. Is she having diabetes?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better.
Wishing good health to your wife.
Take care.
