Question: BLOOD IN URINE AND STOOL

Answered by Dr. Ivo Ditah (1 hour later)
Brief Answer:
Are you on blood thinners?

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

As a male, blood in urine and stool is often not related to a common source. This brings to mind the possibility of a bleeding disorder that predisposes you to bleed from internal surfaces. I will like to know if you are on any medications, especially blood thinners. Also, have you ever had this before and for how long has this been going on? Finally, do you have any other symptoms such as pain, difficulties urinating or defecating?

I will like to hear from you on this. I will then evaluate and guide on the need for further testing and what tests would be most appropriate at this time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
Continue amoxicillin and monitor only!

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

With frequent urination, it may suggest a urinary tract infection. I recommend you monitor while on antibiotics. If this recurs at the end of treatment, then only at that time I will request for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query.
