What Can Cause Abdominal Pain Without Diarrhea Or Vomiting In A Child?

Question: My son is now 2 year 9 months old. From 2 days before he started telling he is having stock pain. but i dont find any other symptoms like loose motion, vomit. (he poops once in a day semisolid form from yesterday).
I went to doctor, he checked whether he has any appendix problem, and he doesnt have any. he prescriped a tamil medicin (Caspa) which is used to improve digestion. (2 times a day 5ml). but i think it doesnt cure it.
he keeps telling it atleast twice a day. can you find what causes his stomach pain.?

Brief Answer:
Try some anti-colic medicine.
Observe for other abnormal symptoms.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I won't get overly worried; if the child is taking feeds well, passing urine normally, there is no vomiting, abdominal fullness or any motion abnormality and pain is not causing sleep disturbances.
You can try some anti-colic medicine like Colicaid or Coaid twice or thrice a day based on severity of symptom with some acid reducing agent like Lansoprazole. Do this if pain persists, worsens or if it is associated with some other symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query.

Thank you for you reply doctor.
Yes, he is passing urine, motion normally, and doesnt have any vomitting. But he is now having dry cough, and he is food intake is reduced. he is now taking only 50% of his usual intake. (am not sure this is because of cough). Yesterday night he said his tummy hurt, and i rubbed his back. he burped and said its gone. (but not all the time). Is it because of colic?
I visited doctor 2 times, and he said no need to worry. but i am still worrying because this is happening first time, and i dont know the reason for this. is it possible of having worms in his stomach? or ulcer?
Please advice me.

Brief Answer:
Ulcer is very very uncommon in this age
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for follow up
Ulcer is very unlikely in this age. Worm causing pain abdomen is a myth. Deworming agent should not be given if there is no suggestive symptoms like perianal itching or visible worms. For cough you may give cough syrup. You may give anticolic with acid reducing agent for better relief as suggested earlier.
Most of the time it persists for 3-4 days and then improves.
If you find any abnormality please contact your pediatrician immediately.
Hope I have answered your query.
