Question: I am 45 yrs old and also having hypothyrodism from past one year and having medications for the same. I am experiencing a lot of dryness and vaginal itchiness from the past one year and from past two to three months having regular vaginal discharge between my period cycle. Is this normal during peri menopause period or anything to do with my thyroid issue? What is the solution for this?

Brief Answer:
Vaginal infection needs to be treated

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns about Vaginal dryness and itching and discharge.
This is common among women of perimenopause age. Not much related thyroid though.
You need to visit your doctor and ask for Vaginal culture and sensitivity to know the type of infection leading to these problems. You can take medication as per prescription after this.
Once the infection clears, you can request for estrogen based lubricants for vaginal dryness from your doctor.

Let me know if you need anymore help.
