Question: I've been getting what feels like a XXXXXXX horse in my jaw/neck area with a lump forming under the haw line, how XXXXXXX is this? Should I be worried or getting it checked?

The symptoms you have mentioned due to dysfunction of temepromandibular joint(TMJ). Temporomandibular disorder usually involves some dysfunction of the joint or the ligaments associated with that joint or the muscles that operate the lower jaw.
Most cases resolve spontaneously or with a some muscle relaxant tablets.
As a first line therapy you can apply warm compresses and take muscle relaxants like baclofen. Avoid hard chewing and yawning. If symptoms persist kindly consult an OMFS (oro maxillary fascial surgeon) and get evaluated
