What Can Cause Painful Breast In A 60 Year Old Woman?
Question: My right breast has been aching... sensitive around the nipple area ...no discharge or discoloration ...I had a hysterectomy when I was 28 and I am 60 and I had breast implants 37 years ago ...
Brief Answer:
Please get examined by surgeon.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I will be answering your concerns today.
Why was the hysterectomy done?
Are you on any any hormone replacement therapy? If so, these medications can cause breast pain.
Other reasons for breast pain are, cyst, fibrocystic disease, infection, complications of breast implant like contractures. Very rarely it is due to cancer.
So it is important that you fix appointment with your doctor for examination so that appropriate treatment can be given.
If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
Past use of hormones does not cause breast pain.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome back.
Only if you are currently on hormones, then that could have been considered as one of the causes of such breast pain. That brief use of hormones long time ago does not cause this breast pain.
Did you get the breast examination done by your doctor? What was their diagnosis?
Regards.

Hello,
I figured as much with the hormones. The pain has subsided for now. Thanks for your input. I will discuss it with my GP on my next visit and he will probably order a mammogram.
