What Can Lead To Chronic Pelvic Pain?
Question: My wife has been having pelvic pains for at least a year. Everything the doctors have done they say there is nothing wrong. She had a colonoscopy and the scope down her throat. She had ultrasounds, CT's and a systo. She has had a total hesterectomy 40 years ago. A gynocologist found nothing. She has a hard time having bowel movements and usually has to take laxitives to go to the bathroom. She also has several urinary infections. She had a bladder uplift 25 years ago but the pelvic/groin pains have been severely painful in the last year. Intercourse is also painful. The pelvic pains are so painful she can hardly walk at times. I don't think it is all in her head so outside of that what are your thoughts?

In all the tests mentioned by you apparently, no definite diagnosis could be made.
In my opinion, the pains could be due to severe osteoporosis and osteomalacia. I would suggest bone densitometry, Vit D3 estimation.
In the meantime, I would start her on mild painkillers, vitamin D supplementation and calcium supplementation along with a high protein diet. The effect may start showing in 3-4 weeks, depending on the severity of the deficiency.
If the tests are normal, then we have to think about other possibilities like sacroiliitis, Lumbar disc disease, etc.
