Breast feeding is the best solution
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Let me assure you that for a child of this age, if he passes stool 10 times a day or once in 10 days, in either of the case there is no reason to be concerned. Both are absolutely normal. Unless the stool is hard, you need not get concerned.
About the feeding, the first thing that I would like to ask is whether the child is exclusively breast fed, whether on partial top feeds or whether entirely on external feeds. If the child is not exclusively breast fed, I would insist on trying to shift towards breast feeding or expressed breast milk as much as possible. The production of breast milk depends on the hunger of the child. If the child is hungry, it sucks more and automatically the breast milk production increases. Such problems are unlikely to occur if the child is breast fed.
About the reluctance to feed or sleep, I would not really worry if the child is breast fed. The child would get the sleep it requires and you need not worry about that. Suppositories would help the child to pass the stool immediately but would not provide a permanent solution. Breast feeding could be a possible solution in this regard.
If you are breast feeding and still the problems persist, it would be good to visit a doctor and get the baby assessed.
Hope that helps.

There is nothing to worry about
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.
If your baby is completely on breast feeding, you may rest assured that nothing further needs to be done. Even though it might seems that the baby is not doing fine, I can assure you that it is normal for the baby and there is no reason to worry. The only time when you need to worry is if the child passes hard pellet like stool.
Hope that helps.
