What Causes 1.7cm Mass In Left Lung?
Question: l have 1.7 cm mass on my left lung biopy came back negertive no cancer nowere in the lung doctor still wants to operate i am 74 years old and dont think i can handle such a big operation am also very very scared is there any other treatment that i can get

There are many causes of lung mass. Broadly speaking benign and malignant. And the gold standard test is biopsy, which already you had and that showed no cancer. So no need to worry about it.
In my opinion you should wait and watch and get done follow up CT after 6 months. If it show similar lesion than no need to worry it is 100% benign. So I suggest not to operate at this moment. And if you are asymptomatic than no treatment is required.

yes i smoke quit 6 months ago no symptons it was found by accerdent on a ct scan for something else
