What Causes Anal Skin Tags?

Question: Hi, I just had the procedure (Excision of skin tag) done yesterday, for removing 2 anal skin tags. To my very surprise I can still feel the 2 tags today. They are a bit smaller but still very much there. I was hoping they would be completely gone. When I checked with the doctor, he told me that the excess skin had been removed and it was not possible to remove the entire tag. Can you pls advise.
Thanks
Brief Answer:
May be remaining tag or crust
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Welcome to healthcaremagic.
I have read your query and understood your concern.
Skin tags are the excess of skin deposited. Depending on the site , they can be removed partially or completely.
In anal area, specially around mucosal surface, great care is taken to avoid injury to mucosa and the sphincter.
Sometimes, the very next day, crusting is felt which gives a false impression of remaining lesion.
These are the two possibilities.
I hope it helps.
