Brief Answer: Explained below Detailed Answer: hello and welcome to HCM! Firstly- after reading your question I can say from my clinical experince that the mood swings from happy ( thinking you are an Einstein) to having OCD suggest a possibility of bipolar disorder. Youa have not metioned of you are on any medicine for the same or not. I usually go for something like sodium valporate or may be lithium for this and escalate the dosage after seeing response in bipolar disorder. but one thing is for sure - that you need medicine. Secondly- Chest pain- I think you need to get an ECG first and check your blood pressure, if they are normal, this can be a part of anxiety and can be dealt with psychiatric medicines. If there is something in these reports, then one needs to go accordingly. Thirdly- itchy armpits- reflect some mild sebaceous gland ( of armpit ) infection- for that I usually recommend keeping the area dry and using some mild antibiotic cream application, twice a day. it just cleans the problem within few days! Foruth- Enlarged prostate- it is early at your age to have this. So, you should go for regular ( may be yearly ) PSA test...and please see a urologist for its treatment: it needs expert opinion. The problem in urination can be raleted to this. Fifth- Constipation- better try these first - --increasing salad in your diet, -- less of oily food and junk foods. --Sprouts and fruits servings (increase to moderate amount ) --foods - papaya, curd, more of whole gains -- regularise the walk/ exercise If it is severe constipation- I give cremaffin syrup or lactulose to my patients, usually 1-2 tsp suffice. You have many problems, ideally it will be good of you get basic tests done - blood counts, thyroid levels, lipid profile, liver function and kidney function tests, sugar levels and ultra sound abdomen . These will also help in deciding the right medicine for you. From these test, one may find the cause of smelly stools also ( doesn't look like infection though). Hope the reply is useful for you Feel tree to ask more questios for clarifications If you are satisfied, please rate the answer and close the query. Dr. Manisha Gopal MD. psychiatry

I should also mention that I have taken goldenseal within regards to constipation (and yellow/itching bowel movement.) (And also not just itching armpit but burning too -(and there is NO sign of irritation) - this burn/itchy sensation is or feels physically a part of of chest pain. - which I think it is a part of whatever is causing the constipation -. I did experience improvement with 24 hours of taken the goldenseal - for about 12 days - also my mood was vastly improved - my thought where more pragmatic and BM started to improve. But when the pills where gone my constipation went back - . I have tried retaking the goldenseal but it isn't effective -and if anything a minor improvement. Again I don't believe that my prostate problem is related but I do feel that what ever is wrong with my intestines is aggravating it. - and or making it more of an issue. - - Height 6 foot / wait hundred 150 pounds and I am on my feet for 8h's working - may not all the exercise I should - I also eat moderately _\ok/.

Brief Answer: Please read below.. Detailed Answer: Hello, On reading the follow up answer, I can say that you should meet a psychiatrist I person and discuss the case in detail. You need to discuss certain issues like --itchiness, and burning, they looks like related with constipation or chest pain to you , but to rule out its relationship with anxiety or if it is infection, is a tricky task...it is quite uncommon presentation for someone to have itch and burning in armpit related to what you say.. however, one thing is for sure that you should start medicine as I mentioned earlier in my answer... if your assessment about the symptoms is right then there will be significant benefit with them ( both in mood swings but also in itch, palpitations etc..) For constipation, you have tried goldenseal, but now it is not giving you good response ....so, I would recommend that you should go for some diet change... - increase amount of salad servings and grouts like papaya, berries in diet - reduce oil and spices ( they really create constipation in many people) - more of water intake - sprouts - and if possible take a walk for 1/2 hour....this will do you very good - there are certain yoga postures very effective for severe chronic constipation, you can get them form internet and practice them daily....it is a sure shot method, done by many of my patients, they are very happy with the response Well, for prostate and weak bladder, I think it will be best that a urologist should give an opinion. Hope this helps you wish you good health! Dr. Manisha Gopal MD psychiatry
