Guerin syndrome is a term used to describe stiffness of joints which is congenital, ie since birth. This must not be the case in you. I think you have joint pain with swelling/stiffness, possibly rheumatoid arthritis. If you can describe your condition in detail along with some relevant test reports then I can understand better.
As of now, I can say that the medicines you are taking like methotrexate, can help a lot in arthritis and joint inflammation. So you should continue it under supervision of your specialist. Side effects may be alteration of liver function, kidney function and low blood counts. Hence we need to test these periodically and take appropriate steps if necessary.
