Hi,Welcome with your query to My Virtual Clinic at HCM.
I read and reviewed your query in all the details put forth by you.
It seems that you mean mylectomy instead of myasectomy-mostly a wrongly spelt word by you. Please Exactly spell and describe the word,so that I could help you out.
I understood your concerns but yet to get more information to suggest non-surgical options for your health concerns of L4/L5 pressure complaints.
So please update me more information as follows-
-Since how long you have these pains while walking?
Do you get radiating / or burning /or lightening pains in leg and shin area, while walking?
Do you have any accompanying diabetes with this?and any anti-diabetic medicines you take?
Have you done CT study to locate the pressure areas in spinal canal?
-Please more on what exactly you want to ask by myasectomy?Spell the exact word as told by your doctor / or update the report of your doctor or any radiological test / or report from your orthopedic surgeon.
Give me as much detailed information as possible in regard to your pain in L4/L5 region?Since how long arthritis in L4/L5 with pressure is present? and causing pains in the legs?
As the description of your complaints and the progress report on events of its development is very scanty and as I don't have access to any direct information from your doctors or their notes and opinions or test reports,I need to have this information to work up on the queries asked by you to resolve your health concerns.
Await this above information question wise with all the needful details,so that in the next few sessions,I would plan exact non-surgical means of treating your leg pains ,which has badly disrupted your life.

Microdescectomy. The pain can be on my shin and left of the shin when walking. I have had this pain as it is now for about 6months. But overall I have had the problem since April 2014 when it was very bad one night and I had to call an all night Dr. for painkillers. This pain raised my blood pressure and I had to go to hospital during the next day to have it brought down. I had 6months chiropractor treatment which helped my back but did not help the pain.
I do not have diabetes, or heart problems . I take BP medicine for hypotension.
I am going back to the neurosurgeon this Thursday and he said he will decide then whether I need a fusion or the Microdescectomy. I am not at all keen on the fusion operation as I have read all the problems it can cause and I do not think it is bad enough for this.
I have had an MRI and CT scan. this would be difficult to let you see this.
I do not have a scanner so cannot let you have any reports, I am sorry about this.
I do not have back pain , sometimes back ache . The pain in my leg varies from being about a 2 to 3 out of 10 , to 5 or 6. It is not nearly as bad as it used to be.
The arthritis is pressing the nerve. I am taking Turmeric 3 times a day to hopefully help the arthritis. I also have some pain in the hip and buttock on my left side. It is all on the left side of my body.Thankyou for your help
I have found a report of MRI which I will copy for you.
The MRI demonstrates significant subarticular stenosis with facet hypertrophy on the left side at L4/5 which will fit well with her symptoms.
I do not have scoliosis or spondylolistheses as I have had an upright x-ray.
This might make things clearer for you,
Many thanks

Spinal Subarticular Stenosis at Left L4/L5 with left Leg pains
Detailed Answer:
Impression-(after MRI report)Spinal Subarticular Stenosis at Left L4/L5 with left Leg pains
Hi,thanks for the updates and the MRI reporting.
I am concerned to avoid a Surgical Procedure of Fusion, considering your old age of 77 yrs, risks of which out way the benefits for your age and your complaints.
You have two factors causing pain -one-locally in back and -second -causing pain in the leg-
a-One is due to arthritis of facet joints-causing local back pain
b-other is due to neural compression causing leg/shin pains.
And it is going to be a complicated thing for doctors in its decision making for non-surgical options.
Are you ready to for the Non-surgical option At Any Cost?,as you have to be ready mentally for some losses for the non-surgical treatment option.
Please confirm. So that I could plan the suggestions accordingly in next session.
Hope to get your feedback on this option soon.
Awaiting for your reply.
Good Day!!
