What Causes Zoloft To Become Ineffective?

I have been on Zoloft 25mg for nearly a year and have never exceeded this dose. Lately I have found its not working. However I find this time of the year difficult every year as I contemplate leaving my 10 year music teaching job to pursue my passion. I'm only teaching for social interaction and lack of social interaction is what concerns me if I work full time as a jeweller. Money is less of an issue these days but I find at this time of the year my head is a mess trying to work out what to do. I have had years of counselljng and Zoloft seemed to keep my deepest feelings at bay. How do I work out if it's Zoloft immunity or if an environmental change needs to be made?
See if 50mg zoloft helps & workout under your doctor's supervision.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to health care magic.
Its good that you do not totally depend on drugs for their illness..they try to work out other methods as well.
First, your question if there is immunity to zoloft or environmental change??
Its easy- you should increase the dose of zoloft to 50mg. If that works - it reflects that your body needs more medicine in this stressful time of the year. Please do it only under your doctor's supervision.
It doesn't mean that you would have to take it continuously (but only for some months). You can go back to your past dosage then.
Also, try to remain in one or the other profession to be more social. Being social is a good cushion against depression. So, even though you quit this music job ..try to pursue something else in its place.
Also, include workout sessions daily or atleast 2-3 times a week; and eat more walnuts and sprouts daily.
Hope the reply is useful for you.
P.S. helping someone in need is also a very good way to feel good and positive in life.
Please ask more question if there are any doubts.
