What Causes A Bump On The Upper Back?
Question: A random spot/bump appeared on my upper back located over my spine. It has been there for about a month. In the picture it is located right below the freckle.
Any idea why it appeared there or if i should get it checked out by a dermatologist?

Brief Answer:
Seems like a fungal infection
Detailed Answer:
Helo. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.
I have viewed the image. I can see a red, slightly scaly patch. Likely it is a fungal infection.
Do you have any itching over this area?or any other symptom?
I suggest you to try a topical antifungal cream e.g Clotrimazole 1% cream (lotrimin), twice daily. It is available over the counter.
Regards

it doesnt itch i was just trying to stratch the area to see if it was dead skin that would fall off like how when your skin gets cut it heals and scabs over. But you are saying it could just be dry skin then? Nothing to worru about?
