Posted on Mon, 30 May 2016
Question: Dr has found a clavicular cyst, inflamed lymph node and thoracic output syndrome. Had Mri of shoulder only where there is synovial fluid and some thinning in the tendon. Have had ultrasound of this area plus ct w and w/o XXXXXXX Where a 16mm cyst is under clavicular bone(it causes pain like a heart attack). So today went to my pulmonologst where he informed me a had a couple in my thyroid. Had an ultrasound where there are 2 cysts there. My question is what to do and where to go at this point.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
You need to get biopsy of the cyst

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think you have two sets of problem.
1.Cyst in neck
2.Nerve compression due to thoracic outlet compression
I would suggest you to get needle examination of the cyst. It is called FNAC examination. It will confirm that there is any tumour. This is our first priority. If this is just a simple cyst then there is no need to be worry about. In that case you can go ahead with excision of clavicular cyst so that nerve compression will be treated.
If their is any warning sign on FNAC then you may need open biopsy.
Cyst of thyroid can be due to many causes like iodine deficiency, malignancy etc. So we need to find out causes of thyroid swelling as soon as possible.
I hope this answer will be useful for you.
Let me know if there is any other followup questions.

Regards.
