What Causes A Cluster Of Blisters On Scrotum?
Question: I have these cluster of blisters on my srcotum . Clear water looking drainage came out when I tried popping them. It's tender and itches at times. I haven't had any sexual contact in over about 7 months. Just masturbation it that time. I noticed the blisters about 4-5 days ago. I had HPV in the past on the side of my penis and right on the edge of the urethra in 2003. I got that treated around 2004 and again in 2005 because it came back. This doesn't look like HPV. Can you please tell me what this is?

I have seen the attached picture .
You seem to have developed herpes genitalis.
Keep the affected area clean and dry.
Wash the affected area with lukewarm saline water twice daily.
Apply a topical antibiotic cream like neosporin or mupirocin over the lesion twice daily.
You might need a course of oral antiviral agent like acyclovir for which you should see your local doctor.
Use adequate contraception while contact till the time the lesions heal .

How did I get it if I wasn't having any sexual intercourse in the past 7 - 8 months?
Brief Answer:
Need to see a doctor for confirmation
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
Once you get infected by herpes virus ,it ys not necessary that you will develop the lesions immediately.
The virus tends to go and rest in the nerve ganglion and may be activated and cause skin lesions at any time .
Such an activation mostly occurs in times of stress ,fever or trauma or can occur even by itself .
So this means that you might have been infected some time earlier ,but you developed the skin episode now or maybe the earlier episode was too mild to be noticable .
But at the same time ,since a direct examination with a magnifying lens is the most confirmatory thing to do ,so I would advise you to see a nearby doctor soon .
