What Causes A Cluster Of Dime Sized Red Spots On Arms, Shoulders And Back?
Question: Hey, I am a 28 year old female with white skin. My skin started growing dime sized red spots on my arms two weeks ago, then spread to my shoulders and back. It has been two weeks now since it first started, and they slightly itch. The number of red spots has been increasing as well. I took pictures of them. What would your diagnosis be? If I were to see a dermatologist in person, what tests would they ask me to go under in your opinion? Do you have any idea about the possible costs of these tests here in Texas? Thanks!
Brief Answer:
Either psoriasis or pityriasis rosea
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcare magic
I have reviewed the attached photographs and according to me their are 2 possibilities:
Either psoriasis which is a chronic disease of the skin charactersised by scaly red lesions
or Pityriasis rosea which is a self limiting disorder associated with upper respiratory tract infection.
Both of them are diagnosed on clinical examination and usually the person is not subjected to any tests.
I hope to have answered your query and would be happy to clarify any further doubts.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
