What Causes A Continue Defecation Sensation When On Treatment For Amoebiasis?
Question: Sir i have feltcontinue defeation sensation since last 45 days. Before this i used to defeacate only once.appetite is normal. Flatulence, mild burning sensation in anus. my physician treated for amoebiasis, and g.I.t. Infection. mild colic is also present. till no relief. Plz suggest treatment.

This residual infection can lead to symptoms of frequent defecation ,flatulence and burning sensation in the stomach.
The residual infection might have been due to inadequate intake of antibiotics .
The usual course of antibiotics is given for 21 days.
Drugs like Ofloxacin and Ornidazole 500 mg twice a day plus Diloxanide Furoate along with antispasmodic agents like Buscopan will help.
