What Causes A Dark Purplish Vein On The Penis?
Question: I am 47 and have a dark purplish vein on both sides of my meatus traveling down into the hole. I get very shiny red almost scar tissue like spots on the shaft right below my glans. These spots are about the size of a dime and are brought after intercourse or almost any arousal. Both spots seem to have something to do with the veins in the meatus because the veins near the spots seem engorged as well. Please help!!!!!!

Based on the facts that you have posted two dark veins on both sides of meatus are dilated tributaries of Dorsal Superficial Veins of penis and seen in many individuals ,
These veins are not going to have any negative effect on your sexual life .
The red spots that you see on arousal and after intercourse are due to increased blood flow during sexual arousal and intercourse ,This is to be considered as a natural phenomenon and should not be worried at all.

These red shiny spots have been a huge concern because I need to stop sexual activity for them to heal but the skin just doesn't seem to go back to normal. They sometime get a white coating that then peels off and makes them shiny and red again. This has been going on for over 6 months. I thought balanitis because one picture of balanitis seemed to resemble my condition but it's never on the glans like balanitis and I am circumcised with great hygiene. I also got nervous of penis cancer. Will this ever go back to normal?

Thanks for follow up .These spots could be due to infection and needs to be confirmed by clinical examination by a qualified Urologist and by ding a swab test and culture of discharge from the lesion .
Take broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefixime along with anti inflammatory drug like
Diclofenac twice daily.along with topical antibiotic ointment like Neosporin twice daily.
