Question : My husband had a vacectomy reversal. His count was improving over the past 6 months. 5M then 13M. We went to do IUI 2 weeks after the count and it dropped to 100k. What could be the cause?

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you
were planning for IUI but noticed fall in sperm count from 5 million to one million hence has to be abandoned .

The sudden fall in sperm count could be due to one of the following few reasons
1) He might have ejaculated in recent past during sleep which is possible without his knowledge .
2) The period of abstinence may be less than 3 days before colectinig the semen sample for IUI.
3) Stress .(This is one of the common factor to reduce sperm count before IUI) what is called due to psychological inhibition .

Please repeat IUI in next ovulation cycle with proper precautions .
