Brief Answer:
Antibiotic cream and oral antiallergic will help

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

Symptoms of tick bite vary according to the tick's species. While most of the tick bite does not cause any systemic disease and produces only local reaction, some may involve other body parts also.
The main aim of ,management in tick bite is application of some antibiotic ointment like mupirocin locally at the bite area and oral antiallergic syrup(cetrizine)/analgesic syrup(like acetaminophen) to decrease itching and reaction. The hard lump near the bite area may be due to inflammatory reaction causing enlargement of lymph node.It should subside once the inflammation decreases. These are prescription medicine please get it prescribed by a physician.

I would like to observe the baby carefully for symptoms like fever, rashes, bodyache, headache, weakness in the limbs or vomiting as appearance of these symptoms will suggest the development of systemic disease like Lymes disease, tick fever or other tick born disease.
I would suggest you to monitor the redness and size of lump and consult your physician if it is not improving or increases rapidly.
I shall be glad to answer if you have any further query.
Wish your child speedy recovery.

This morning she has developed several more hard lumps on her head. She started out with one but the number has increased substantially, there are about 10 lumps now. Also, the area of the tick bite has increased in size as well and looks more irritated as well. What do you suggest?

Brief Answer:
I would suggest you to get her to the emergency

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the follow up

In the present worsening situation I would suggest you to get her clinically evaluated to assess the severity of symptoms and to check the presence of multiple ticks causing this.
She may need injectable medication to alleviate the symptoms.
