What Causes A Hole Containing Yellow Tissue On Thigh?
Question: I have a hole in my skin on my thigh. It started as a red spot, not so bad, that had black in the center. After a few days there is just a hole, some yellow tissue lining it. There was no pus that came out. I have had boils in other areas but this is diferent. The skin surrounding is peeling away.

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
I have seen the images attached, you definitely need to consult a doctor nearby.
It seems you had developed a deep bacterial infection that has still not healed properly. Had you been my patient, I would have started you on an oral antibacterial like amoxycillin clavulinic acid( 625 mg thrice in a day) or cefadroxil 500 mg twice in a day along with topical antibiotic like mupirocin twice in a day. Also warm water condy's compresses( by adding potassium permanganate) twice in a day would help by liquifying the pus for easy drainage.
As all these medicines are prescription drugs, you need a prescription from a doctor nearby.
Hope this helped.

Thank you. I am currently taking Azithromycin 250mg but don't know if this will help. I am currently dealing with hemolytic anemia that has perhaps weakened my immune system. This is maybe a week old from redish area to the pic I sent taken a few hrs ago. I have had a mrsa like infection years ago and that was my primary concern.

Hi,
Thanks for writing back.
Azithromycin 250 mg wouldn't help you out. Its standard dose in adults in 500 mg daily. I would prefer that you take amoxyclav/cefixime/ cefopododoxime/cefadroxil etc. If concerned about MRSA, the best way would be to a take pus swab from affected area for culture sensitivity. Depending upon the results, best antibiotic can be added. I would encourage you to meet a doctor in your area.
Hope this helped.
Should there be any doubt, feel free to write back.
