Brief Answer:
very rare

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Theoretically and practically this is very rare.

Well the most probable reasons can be :

''Thyroiditis'' meaning inflammation of the thyroid gland, the reason for this is usually not known (idiopathic).

A single (solitary nodule) becomes overactive and starts producing too much hormone.

Possibility of the person/patient taking too many tablets of Eltroxin / medicines meant for treatment.
