What Causes A Lesion In The Skull While Having HSV Infection?
These viruses affect nervous tissues, not bones.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
HSV 1+2 are viruses that prefer primarily the nervous system ( mainly nerves ganglions ), so, theoretically speaking, where is located a ganglion it may be infected by the virus, including skull.
For example, a large ganglion is the trigeminal ganglion located at the base of the skull, if it is affected by the virus it may appear as a skull lesion in imaging studies.
But, these viruses don't affect the skull or other bones directly.
It is necessary to upload the MRI report and images in order to understand better your condition.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you.
Greetings.
