What Causes A Lump In Rectum?

Question: My 30 year old son who lives in Prague called concerned about a small lump felt under the skin approximately one inch from rectum. There is no pain associated with it. He said that he felt a "pop"
before he noticed the lump. Medical care is difficult to obtain there and because I am an RN [not worked
in ages] he called me. I feel as though I am no help......?abscess, hemoroids [?sp], etc. in feel he needs to have this looked at immediately no matter the inconvenience involved.

Brief Answer:
Painless lump, may be a cyst or a lipoma
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query for your son.
A small lump felt under the skin one inch away from the rectum, which is painless but he felt a pop before he noticed the lump.
Painless lump in this area after a feeling of popping can most probably be a small cyst or a lipoma; as any other swelling like a boil or abscess will be extremely painful.
If there is no pain or tenderness he can consult a Surgeon in Prague at his convenience.
I hope this answers your query, please feel free to ask for further relevant question or if you feel that there is a gap-of-communication.
Nothing much to worry.
