What Causes A Lump On The Collarbone?
Information
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
By "front of my neck bone" I am confused as to whether you mean the back of your spinal column at the level of your neck, or you mean the front of your neck?
If you mean the front of your neck, lumps can be from lymph node growths, lymph node infections, growths from the sublingual salivary gland, and also a growth on the thyroid gland. That is if the lump is deeper. If it is superficial, it may be something in the skin or soft tissue such as a sebaceous cyst or lipoma (both are benign).
In the back, it may be a bony growth on a cervical (neck) vertebra, or a herniation or growth of an interspace between the vertebrae (disc) or in the spinal canal. Again, if superficial, it may be a sebaceous cyst or lipoma.
Do you have a follow up appointment with your doctor to discuss the results of your tests? You can also call your doctor's office for follow up, but not all are willing to discuss test results over the phone. Regardless, I strongly recommend that you call your doctor's office (the one who ordered the ultrasound) to ask about the status. Sometimes in a busy office or clinic, staff forget to follow up with phone calls.
I hope this information helps.
