What Causes A Lump On The Forearm?
Question: I developed a minimally tender lump to my forearm about a month ago. There was no trauma to the area. The skin over the area is numb. Currently measures around 4cm now. Has become more tender with some throbbing in the forearm itself. Ultrasound showed a 0.5cm hypoechoic vascular mass. Ultrasound excluded fluid collection, abcess and hematoma. What does this mean and is it concerning?
Brief Answer:
Can be a cyst.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
A 4cm lump on the forearm which is hypoechoic and vascular is likely to be a cyst. It can appear in a tendon sheath or near bursa. It can get inflamed and become painful. The best way to get rid of the pain is to consult an orthopedician and get the cyst excised.
I hope this answers your query.
