What Causes A Lump On The Outside Of The Right Leg?

default
Posted on Mon, 25 Mar 2024
Question: I have a hard 2 cm lump on the outside of my right leg, seems to be on the outside right fibula just below the knee, it is painful to touch and sometimes there is what feels like sciatica pain up and down my right leg. Rest and ibuprofen seems to relieve the pain and some of the swelling, it's worse after taking a walk. What do you think? I have noticed the lump for about a month, it appeared after doing yard work on a steep bank.

Brief Answer:
You should be investigated.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description,it looks like an Inflammatory swelling.
If you do not have any Objection, please attach the pic showing the swelling.
I prefer an Ultrasound of the swelling to know the nature of it, whether SOLID or FLUID FILLED(CYSTIC). Another investigation like FNAC(Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology)will confirm the Diagnosis.
Please consult your doctor, preferably a General Surgeon and proceed accordingly.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
