What Causes A Lump On The Temple Region After A Head Injury?
Your injury seems trivial and not associated with any significant injury
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.
Sorry to hear about your injury and hope the pain is not too much.
You seem to have had a trivial head injury which has left you with a knot and tenderness in the temple region.
Though there is a lot of concern about head injuries in general, trivial head injuries are usually not a problem.
A head injury is a concern if one or more of the following occurs
1. Loss of consciousness
2. Severe headache which is worsening
3. Problems in walking or standing after the injury
4. Any episodes of giddiness and vomiting
5. Bleeding from ear or nose after a head injury
6. Seizures after the head injury
7. Inability to speak or understand
8. Any vision problems
The above symptoms require one to have a clinical evaluation immediately and get a CT scan done in some cases.
Therefore I guess you do not have any of the above mentioned symptoms and are safe.
Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
Regards,
It is an extremely rare occurrance to have serious injury without symptoms
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing back with an update.
I agree that it happens in extremely rare circumstances and I pray that you are alright.
Keeping in mind about "Natasha richardson" I would like to suggest you keep a watch over your symptoms for the next 24 hours from the time of injury.
If there is any of the above then symptoms listed in my previous reply then please take medical attention immediately.
Since you have been stable from 5.00 pm to 1.25 am the next day, I do not see any thing seriously wrong with your head injury and therefore recommended medical attention if you develop any signs of serious head injury over the next day.
Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
