What Causes A Lump On The Tonsil?

Question: I have a mass on my left tonsil. Dr. Says it is a cyst . my voice has become muffled in the past few weeks. It is getting worse. Sometimes people have a hard time understanding me. My throat is not sore or inflamed. What do you think. No swelling.
