What Causes A Movement On The Lower Abdomen?

default
Posted on Fri, 20 Feb 2015
Question: Recently, I have had several occasions when it felt like a baby was turning over just on my right lower abdomen. It was felt significantly by my hand each time that I automatically pushed in the location when it happened. I am not pregnant. There was no pain involved, but the movement was incredibly large and seemed like an organ flipped over completely. There is a fair amount of pressure when it starts and is relieved within a minute. What type of doctor should I see and what could I be dealing with?

Brief Answer:
Can be intestinal movement.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The spontaneous painless movement in the abdomen can be due to a baby or intestinal movements. This can happen due to constipation also. You can consult a gynecologist who after an examination can order investigations like ultrasound scan which will help in finding out the cause.
