What Causes A Numb Spot After Self Administering Of Estradiol Injections?
Unlikely to be injury to sciatic nerve
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
The risk of injury to sciatic nerve does not depend on the length of the needle, it depends on location of giving the injection. Intra-muscular injection in gluteal region are given in peer and outer quadrant.
Accidental injection into sciatic nerve will cause shooting pain in the gluteal and back of thigh region. Numb spot could be due to inadvertent injection into subcutaneous plane. There is no reason of being worried. It will subside ever a period of time. Local application of hot water fomentation will be helpful.
I would also suggest you taking Multivitamin supplement which will also benefit.
In case you require any further assistance kindly get back to me, will be glad to assist you.

Aspirate before you inject
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Puncturing the skin will cause bleeding.
Before you start injecting aspirate the syringe and check. If no blood comes into the syringe then you are not in the vein. Also you can insert the whole length of needle completely as it will ensure deep intramuscular injection. It's good to know you are so well aware of location of site of injection.
Local hot water fomentation will resolve the issue.
Take care
