What Causes A Painful Abdominal Lump?

Posted on Mon, 26 Dec 2016
Question: Dear Dr. T, how kind of you to follow up on our conversations. Today is an OK day, still in pain with no relief in sight. I have been to 2 different Docs who did not like the feel of the painful mass hear my belly button. New symptoms have joined the mix--urination requires pushing (no pain thankfully), cannot eat more than 4-6 ounces of food at a time or my pain level creeps up to 5 or so, pain in uterus (where Lap scar is located, but the scar is not painful), insomnia from the pain, can sit only in a reclining position with a pillow firmly pressed on my AB, pain has radiated back up to my stomach as it was during my hospital stay (not from hunger), and the entire right side of my AB from lower ribcage to where my appendix used to be is painful. One Doc took an x-ray of my AB and it clearly showed a mass at my belle button. He recommended I see a GI specialist. Doc #2 felt and said the same thing about the mass. She gave me a referral for a GI sonogram and took blood to check

Brief Answer:
as explained in details.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your review query and additional information about mass at belly button, pain continues - more on the right side and as you have mentioned, the
X-ray and clinical findings, unable to eat more than 4-6 ounces and all.
All this indicates towards a cause that can be verified by investigations.
GI Sonogram and a review Contrast enhanced CT scan with Enterography/Enteroclysis can find the cause.
This mass may be confluence of the small intestines to cause obstruction that cause pain on eating more than a small limit.
Please get an opinion of a Specialist at the earliest and get it corrected the way the further investigations indicate so.
Till then be on liquid diet only.

I hops this answer helps you.
