What Causes A Painful Sore On The Penis Head?
Question: Hi, I'm trying to help my boyfriend out, we have both been tested for STD's and are both clean, but this weekend i noticed a sore, not a blister, on the head of his penis. We thought maybe his skin just tore or ripped from being dry. Over a few days it got worse, he is now in severe pain. He has multiple sores that are white, they are not blisters, on the head of his penis and under his skin (he is uncircumsized) and the skin surrounding his head is swollen and there is a white/yellow discharge coming out of the area with the sores. He also cannot pull the skin back over his head without being in extreme pain.
My boyfriend is 21 years old, hispanic, and lives a healthy lifestyle.

Brief Answer:
Phimosis
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
I am sorry to hear that your boyfriend is having problems with his penis. He has what is called Phimosis or infection of the foreskin. It is a combination fungal and bacterial infection. He will need to see a medical provider to get the proper antifungal and antibiotic to clear the infection. This has nothing to do with being unhealthy or being clean. It just happens sometimes. He will not get better though without getting the right treatment. If this progresses he may need to have a circumcision.
