Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. What you are experiencing is called a subconjunctival haemorrhage, and the causes for such a presentation are listed below for your reference:

+Aggressively rubbing your eye(s)
+Violent repetitive sneezing
+Repetitive coughing
+Vomiting (can be just one episode or more)
+Eye infections (but usually presents with other symptoms like itching of eyes, discharge, etc.)
+Heavy lifting
+Trauma also falls in the list, but has been ruled out by you

These are some of the most common causes, please do write back to me after analysing this list so we can work together towards finding the cause and also guiding you towards better health.

I look forward to hearing from you. I hope you find my response helpful, please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am alway here to help.

Rubbing my eye may apply. I didnt think I was rubbing that hard. Would a sudden rise in blood pressure be a possible contributing factor?

Brief Answer:
Yes it is most certainly a possibility

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again.

Yes of course, it is one of the causes as well. Along with other causes like dry eyes, lack of sleep, allergic reactions, etc. It should subside on its own in a while ma'am. :)

Best wishes.
