What Causes A Raised Bleeding Spot On My Shin Along With Dryness And Itchiness On The Arms And Thighs?
Question: I have this spot on my shin, picture is attached. It first showed up a few weeks ago then went away in about a week. It came back last week. It was slightly raised this time I picked at it and it bled a little and now looks like this. My skin on my arms and thighs are dry and itchy but not so much on my shins.
Brief Answer:
Seems to be excoriation related to dry skin, apply a topical antibiotic
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It seems to be an excoriation related most likely to dry skin.
Nothing to worry about.
Just apply a topical antibiotic like Neosporin ointment on the affected area twice daily for 5-7 days.
This should resolve it.
Hope I have answered your query.

I did have two more spots that I want you to look at. One is on my left ankle and one is one my ankle. The one on the left showed up last week the one on the right this morning. The first picture is the left and the second is the right. No itching. I scratched the new one this morning and it bled for a few seconds and now kind of stings if I touch it.
Brief Answer:
Either excoriations related to dry skin or insect bite
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
These seem to be either excoriations related to dry skin and that's why the redness and marks.
The other possibility which is less likely is some insect bite. I would recommend you to apply cortisone cream and Neosporin ointment on the affected areas twice daily along with a moisturizing lotion containing white soft paraffin on the entire body 2-3 times in a day.
Also take antihistaminic like tablet Cetrizine 10 mg once daily at bedtime for 7-10 days.
This should resolve your problem.
Hope I have answered your query.
