What Causes A Rash Under The Breast?
Question: My mother is 81 years old and has several things going on with her, her eyes are severly red, she has a rash that is under her breasts, and that it (the rash) even goes into one of her nostrils at times. She takes pain medicine, Tramadol and Hydrocodine and is wondering if this may be causing these symptons? When her eyes become severly red and this rash (or whatever it may be flares up) she feels tired and just overall bad. She has had tests done in the past but nothing ever shows up but there is clearly some type of bacteria inside her or something going on. Your expertise would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
Brief Answer:
Possible fungal rash?
Detailed Answer:
Hello Madam
I can certainly understand your concern.
This possibly looks like a rash of infection origin , probably fungal.
Hydrocortisone can exacerbate or even precipitate this rash.
I generally prescribe a short course of oral antifungal medications like Terminating 250 mg for a week initially.
Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these pills to her.
I would also like to know if she experiencing any problems with her lungs either in the present or in remote past.
It would be helpful if you can upload images of the rash under the breast and nose.
Thank you.
