What Causes A Red Patch On The Scalp Of An Infant?
Question: Hi,
My baby is 4months old. Day before yesturday i noticed a red patch on the right side of her scalp. Within few hours it turned into a blister. Then maybe because of friction it burst and waterly fluid started ozzing out. I applied Absorb powder on the affected area. Today i am noticing 3 more similar blisters on her head. One more has burst so i am using alcohal swab to clean it. I dont think these are causing any pain or irritation as my baby's behaviour is normal. Pls let me know what is causing these blisters and what to apply and what can i do to prevent them. Pictures attached for your reference.
Regards

Brief Answer:
Most likely pyoderma, please consult a physician
Detailed Answer:
Hello
thanks for choosing this platform
I have seen the image.Red lesion developing into blister on scalp in this age is most likely due to some infection called pyoderma.Significant pain and itching may not be there in this condition.
I would request you to consult a pediatrician for evaluation and prescription of medications.
Application of antibiotic ointment like Mupirocin along with some oral antibiotic like amoxycillin/clavulinic acid helps in recovery.
I hoe this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more query.
