Brief Answer:
It appears to be infection, may be felon

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Small unnoticed injury by any wooden, metal or glass splinters can cause this type of lesion. This is a slow growing infection.Injury and thus infection is common on finger, the condition is known as felon. It is common in children as they are prone to these unnoticed injury due to their explorative behaviour.
I have seen the attached image.
My first provisional diagnosis is Felon and I would like to rule out this condition.
The common presentation is redness following by a yellowish pus point formation due to the deep abscess.
In most of the cases it is bacterial but sometimes herpetic or fungal infection may mimic this.
The management is antibiotic and hot fomentation.Sometimes surgery may be needed if there is inappropriate response to antibiotic.

I would suggest you to consult a pediatrician for proper evaluation and management accordingly.
I would be glad to answer if you have any further query.
Regards
